KELOWNA – Nominations open Friday August 23 for the 37th Annual Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, recognizing business excellence in our region.
Businesses and organizations in Kelowna and the surrounding area can be nominated (including self-nomination) in 16 categories. Once nominated, applications are reviewed by an independent panel of judges and assessed against a set standard of criteria. Category finalists are selected, and judges visit each place of business prior to selecting winners.
“Kelowna has an extraordinary business community,” said Maryse Harvey, Chamber President & Chair . “The Business Excellence Awards recognizes outstanding businesses and the exceptional people who contribute to the growth of our region.” The program is presented by title sponsors Lawson Lundell LLP and Beem Credit Union (Interior Savings).
The Business Excellence Awards’ 16 categories include ethical business practices, community impact, Indigenous business, young entrepreneur, technology innovation, agriculture, and equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a complete list of categories available online. The Business Leader of the Year is determined by the judging panel, with the 2023 award given to Sam Samaddar, CEO of Kelowna International Airport.
“We are thrilled to see the growth, resilience, and diversity of economic activity in Kelowna,” said Harvey. “Local businesses, not-for-profits, entrepreneurs – everyone who strives for excellence in building a better business community – we invite you to nominate and celebrate.”
Nominations are open August 23 at 8:30am through to midnight September 23, 2024. Three finalists for each category will be named at an upcoming event in October, and winners announced at a Gala on November 15th at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort.
