Kamloops Seeking Input for Community Plan

Kamloops Seeking Input for Community Plan

KAMLOOPS - A draft of KAMPLAN, the City of Kamloops Official Community Plan (OCP), is now available for public review, and City staff is seeking feedback from the residents of Kamloops.

The OCP is the guiding document used to plan future growth and manage land use within the city. The OCP provides goals and policies for topic areas including land management and development, the environment, transportation, infrastructure, housing, parks and recreation, economic development, and more. The current draft is based on input gathered over multiple phases from the public, stakeholders, First Nations, government agencies, City staff, and Council.

From June 5 to 8, the City will be hosting four public events, called KAMPLAN Cafés, to obtain feedback on the draft OCP. City staff will engage residents in roundtable discussions and be available to answer questions while attendees provide feedback.

“The world café style allows attendees to get in-depth on the topic area or areas of their choice,” says Jason Locke, Community Planner Supervisor at the City of Kamloops. “It’s a great way to learn more about the OCP and provide your input on the future direction of our City.”

  • Monday, June 5 – 5:30 pm-9:00 pm – Thompson Rivers University, Campus Activity Centre, Mountain Room
  • Tuesday, June 6 – 5:30 pm-9:00 pm – McArthur Island, Sports Centre Lounge
