ABBOTSFORD – HME Home Health Ltd. announced their further expansion to the Eastern Fraser Valley. Currently under construction, the new HME Abbotsford, scheduled to open in the Summer of 2025, will be HME Home Health’s ninth location in British Columbia.
“HME is a 100% B.C.-owned business and is Canada’s largest independent home medical company – this new expansion into the Eastern Fraser Valley will allow us to continue to grow and invest in the communities we serve,” said Robert Boscacci, CEO & Co-Founder. “HME Abbotsford is a continuation of our ambitious expansion plans that will see several more locations opening over the coming years, both in B.C. and outside the province.”
Robert continued, “A central core initiative at HME is our Green Commitment. HME Abbotsford is a brand-new construction and will be a state-of-the-art facility upholding our environmental commitment with LED lighting, electric charging and low emission standards.”
“Starting from our one location in Richmond in 2012, HME has seen exceptional growth in the past decade, resulting in nine locations that serve over 85% of British Columbia’s population,” said Cameron Fleming, CIIO & Co-Founder. “The Eastern Fraser Valley is one of B.C.’s fastest growing areas, and HME Abbotsford will allow us to serve this important market further.”
HME’s COO, Michelle Harvey, noted, “Since our South Surrey location opened in 2015, we’ve seen increased demand for service stretching out to Hope. Having a location in the Eastern Fraser Valley, equipped with a trial room, clinical assessment space, offices, and a warehouse facility, HME will be able to bring our high-quality service and team to clients and clinicians residing in the Fraser Valley.”
“HME Abbotsford will service both adult and pediatric clients from Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope Mission, Agassiz, and surrounding areas and will be a further link to our Interior location in Kelowna,” Michelle continued.
“With the Fraser Valley Regional District anticipating the population of the region to increase to over 500,000 by 2050 and with HME South Surrey at full capacity, HME Abbotsford will allow us to continue to expand our offerings and regional support in the coming years,” said Kristy McMartin, Senior Manager Compliance.
Starting from a single operation in B.C.’s Lower Mainland a decade ago, HME has expanded aggressively across the province in recent years and, with today’s announcement, will have nine locations operation in 2025 and over 80,000 sq ft. of office and warehouse in Richmond, Victoria, Surrey, Nanaimo, North Vancouver, Kelowna, Sechelt, and Abbotsford.
The company’s workforce is comprised of over 125 highly-trained professionals, technicians, and support staff.
HME Home Health offers a vast array of mobility and accessibility devices and medical equipment. Items include wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, hospital beds, mattresses, other durable medical equipment, stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps, and other installed products.
