VERNON – The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is calling on passionate and visionary business and community leaders to help shape the future of Vernon by serving on its Board of Directors for the 2025-2026 term.
The Chamber’s Board Development Committee is inviting nominations for individuals who are ready to make a meaningful contribution to the region’s economic and civic well-being. Candidates will serve a one-year term beginning September 17, 2025, and nominations must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025.
“We are looking for leaders that are passionate about our community that demonstrate integrity, bring diverse experience and a commitment to collaboration,” said Kirndeep Nahal, President of the Greater Vernon Chamber. “Serving on the Chamber Board is an opportunity to support and advocate for our local business community and to play key role in shaping the long-term vitality of Greater Vernon.”
Who Should Apply?
The Chamber encourages applications from individuals who:
- Have a strong understanding of the local business and economic environment.
- Possess previous experience on boards, in leadership, advocacy, or executive roles.
- Demonstrate sound business, entrepreneurial, or financial acumen.
- Show a history of community involvement and uphold high ethical standards.
Nominees must be Chamber members in good standing, or representatives of member organizations, and endorsed by another Chamber member.
Director Responsibilities
Board members are expected to:
- Attend monthly board meetings and Chamber events.
- Represent the Chamber at community functions and in public.
- Support membership engagement and recruitment.
- Participate on at least one Chamber committee (e.g., Advocacy, Governance, Board Development).
- Commit approximately 4–6 hours monthly to Chamber-related duties.
Successful candidates will also take part in a mandatory orientation on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Election Timeline
- June 16: Call for nominations opens
- June 16 – June 30: Nominations accepted
- July 2 – August 4: Candidate review
- August 11 – 29: Online voting (if required)
- September 17: Successful candidates announced at AGM
