August 6th Restrictions In Central Okanagan

Update released by the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association:

These restrictions apply to the communities of: Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, Peachland and Lake Country.

1. Today the Interior Health Authority Announced that effective today the following restrictions are in place effective today. 80 per cent of cases are the Delta strain and driving the rapid transmission, most transmission coming through social gatherings, bars, nightclubs, fitness centres and personal gatherings. These restrictions are being put in place to slow the transmission and get people vaccinated.

Effective today, August 6, 2021

– masks indoors continue
– 6 people per table (can be from different households)
– alcohol service must stop at 10pm
– bars, nightclubs closed
– travel to the Central Okanagan not recommended
– casinos can remain operating
– indoor high intensity fitness is cancelled
– low intensity exercise still permitted
– 5 people groups on boats and houseboats
– 5 people in vacation rentals

Effective, Monday, August 9, 2021
– outdoor personal gatherings maximum 6 people
– indoor personal gatherings maximum 6 people
– organized gatherings limited to 50 people indoors with COVID-19 safety plan
– organized gatherings limited to 50 people with COVID-19 safety plan
– meetings and events restricted to 50 people for indoor events

REMINDER:
Get vaccinated
 at any one of the four sites now through August 9th, your staff can jump the line. While they are at the vaccination centre and are registering there will be a poster with a QR code they can scan the QR code and be entered to win one of four gift cards, the gift cards hold value of $100 each and can be redeemed at Train Station, Kelly O’Bryans or Metro Liquor. Central Okanagan Restaurants want to get your staff vaccinated at your next staff meeting? Interior Health will come to you. Interior Health has offered to join your team huddle or staff meeting with their doctor teams present to educate your staff and answer their questions regarding vaccinations. They have also indicated that if you want them to arrive with a nurse and vaccines to do vaccinations on-site during a staff meeting they will gladly do this to help make getting vaccinated easier for your staff.
