The 2024 Judges’ Choice Award went to the Okanagan College Student Residences
KELOWNA – A record number of Finalists for the 2025 Thompson Okanagan Commercial Building Awards have been announced!
42 projects and 16 companies will be competing for top honours at the 14th annual event, which will be held in late October at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.
“We’re thrilled to help celebrate and promote the top commercial real estate projects and developers across the region this year,” says John MacDonald, Publisher of the Business Examiner News Group, which has coordinated the event since its inception.
“We love to see the development activity over the years materialize into places for people to work, live and play. This year features a number of high impact projects that our judges are carefully reviewing, and we look forward to announcing the winners in late October!”
2025 also marks the addition of several new categories marking an expansion from its roots as an exclusively project based awards ceremony. Feedback from prior attendees drove the addition of three new categories due to the critical role these firms play in building out commercial projects across the Island. Electrical Contractor, Engineer, and Civil Contractor of the Year are the new categories.
Eligible projects were completed between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, and located in Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Lumby, Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland, Summerland, Penticton, Oliver and Osoyoos, as well as the Regional Districts of Thompson Nicola, Columbia Shuswap, North Okanagan, Central Okanagan and South Okanagan-Similkameen.
