SURREY – The Surrey Board of Trade is proud to announce that both of its policy submissions have been approved by the delegates at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting and Convention in Halifax, NS, held from October 17-19, 2024. The Convention gathered representatives from the 430 chambers of commerce across the country, representing a unified voice for businesses from coast to coast.
Surrey Board of Trade policies supported:
- Creating Business Reporting and Taxation Regulation Efficiencies
- Enhancing Port Safety and Efficiency
The Surrey Board of Trade’s policy submissions received majority support, demonstrating that the issues we are advocating for resonate with businesses across Canada. This endorsement by the national business community strengthens our position as we bring these policy priorities to the Government of Canada.
“Our successful policy resolutions show that the business issues we are concerned about in Surrey are shared by communities nationwide,” said Jasroop Gosal, Interim Spokesperson for the Surrey Board of Trade. “With this national backing, we are in a stronger position to ensure that the Government of Canada listens to our recommendations and takes action on these critical matters.”
