DELTA 

Ron Usher, Practice Advisor and General Counsel at the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia, will deliver a presentation on the Cullen Commission and its implications for money laundering in BC.

The City of Delta Council granted BC Hydro permission to install eight direct current (DC) fast charge stations on nine parking spaces at the Sungod Recreation Centre under a licence agreement approved by the council.

The Delta Municipal Hall is undergoing upgrades and renovations with a total cost of $2 million.

A request for proposals has been issued by the City of Delta to an architect for the development of a proposed design that would serve as a replacement facility for the Winskill Aquatic and Fitness Centre located in Tsawwassen.

The Dunbar Lumber site, which is located at the intersection of Bridge and Elliott streets, will be transformed into a six-story mixed-use housing project with condos on the upper floors and commercial space and parking on the lower levels. This modification to an already-approved major redevelopment application was approved by the Delta council.

A newly submitted application to construct a four-story, 81-unit market rental complex in the 4500-block of Arthur Drive, Ladner, is presently undergoing review by the City of Delta. Feedback is being solicited on this application.

CHILLIWACK

The Province of British Columbia has designated a sum of $10 million for the implementation of two flood mitigation initiatives along the northern Fraser River banks in Chilliwack, BC.

The provincial government has allocated $327,000 to the Indigenous Justice Association to support the organization’s programming in Chilliwack for the next three years.

The province granted the City of Pitt Meadows $20,000 for the expansion of its Emergency Support Services team.
