FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR 2024 FRASER VALLEY COMMERCIAL BUILDING AWARDS

SURREY – The 2024 Fraser Valley Commercial Building Award Finalists have been announced!

41 Finalist projects, selected from 219 total nominations, will be competing for awards in 14 categories, including the Judge’s Choice for best overall. Winners will be announced live on Thursday, October 24 at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel in Surrey.

“We’re beyond excited to see the growth in submitted projects for this year’s event, our second year being in the Fraser Valley,” says John MacDonald, Publisher of the Business Examiner News Group, the organization producing the event.

“Attending this year will be more than 200 members of the construction, development and real estate sectors across the Valley, we look forward to connecting and celebrating with everyone on the 24th!

Eligible projects were completed between January 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024, and located between Delta and Chilliwack, including the North Fraser municipalities.

Current sponsors include the Taurus Commercial, Merit Kitchens, the Surrey Board of Trade, FortisBC, Save More Plumbing and Lighting, Avison Young, and Green Sheet Construction Data, with more to be announced as the event approaches.

The judging panel for this year’s event includes Scott Brown, BC Regional Director at BC MacKay CEO Forums, and Senior Advisor Fifth Avenue Real Estate Marketing, he is joined by returning judges Ray Yenkana, owner of Royal LePage Little Oak Realty, and Carl Johannsen, Director of Development Services at the City of Langley.

Award categories include:

  • Affordable Housing, Community Institutional, Tourism & Hospitality, Industrial, Multi-Family (Townhome + Condo), Purpose Built Rental, Office, Renovation, Retail, Mixed Use, Safety Award, Architect of the Year, and Construction Company of the Year.

There will also be a Judges’ Choice Award for the best overall entry.
