DAWSON CREEK – Several companies across northern BC that have emissions-reducing projects will be receiving funding from the 2021 CleanBC Industry Fund, which is investing $70 million in 25 emission-reduction projects.
The projects include:
Dawson Creek
ARC Resources Ltd., $13.66 million for fuel switching at their Dawson Creek Processing Plant, connecting to the BC Hydro electric grid.
NorthRiver Midstream Inc., $7.5 million for electrification of their NorthRiver Midstream operation to the BC Hydro electric grid, and $1 million for waste heat recovery at their NorthRiver Midstream Highway Processing Facility.
Fort St. John
Canlin Energy Corp., $1.57 for fuel switching to replace four natural gas compressor drivers and associated equipment with electric alternatives at four compressor stations near Fort St. John and Fort Nelson, as well as $119,186 to replace pneumatic methanol pumps with electric pumps operated by solar energy.
NorthRiver Midstream Inc., $10 million for carbon sequestration to install a carbon and acid gas compression and injection system at their McMahon gas plant.
Petronas Energy Canada Ltd., $482,320 to install a vapour recovery unit at a gas processing plant.
Storm Resources Ltd., $652,500 to install a vapour recovery unit at a gas processing plant in the Fort St. John area to capture natural gas currently flared and vented to atmosphere and utilize it in the production process.
Northeast BC
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., $2.07 million to replace 254 wellsite pneumatic methanol pumps with electric pumps operated by solar energy.
ConocoPhillips Canada Resources Corp., $764,183 to capture and recover waste gas that was previously vented and flared during the completion flowback processes at 55 wells annually in northeast B.C.
Crew Energy Inc., $103,308 to utilize a higher efficiency compressor to convert an existing natural gas-fired model at their Wilder Sweet Gas Plant in northeast B.C.
