FORT ST. JOHN – Milo MacDonald has served as CAO of the City of Williams Lake since September of 2016 following a successful 20-year career with the RCMP.
“Milo is a proven leader who will continue to support and deliver on our strategic plan and carry on our tradition of being innovative leaders in municipal government, “ said Mayor Lori Ackerman.
MacDonald will replace long time Chief Administrative Officer Dianne Hunter as leader of the City Administration. Hunter, who will be retiring on September 11, served the City of Fort St. John for 13 of her 42-years in local government. She participated in 880 council meetings in her career.
As part of the City of Fort St. John’s planned and principled approach to local government Mayor and Council had identified the CAO’s position as being critical to the success of the City of Fort St. John. And as part of a clear determination to be leaders in recruitment strategy the competition was led by Council and was supported by City Human Resource Professionals and an external recruitment firm.
MacDonald will take office on September 14, 2020.
