The Garden Fund of BC Housing annually awards a maximum of $3,000 in garden funding to ten non-profit housing partners, including the Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC and Prince George Native Friendship Centre.

FORT ST. JOHN

BC Check-Up: Invest, an annual report on investment trends throughout the province published by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC), indicates that construction of 59 housing units commenced in the largest municipalities of Northeast British Columbia, which is a marginal decrease from the 63 units recorded in 2022.

 

KITIMAT

A 20-year gas supply from ARC Resources and Pembina Pipeline has allowed the Haisla Nation Cedar LNG project near Kitimat to move forward with engineering.

Overall Tools & Rentals located at 420 Enterprise Ave, Kitimat, is scheduled for a grand re-opening on May 3rd.

The Town of Smithers was recently awarded funding from BC Healthy Communities, under the Age-Friendly Communities Program, for undertaking the Age-Friendly Wayfinding Project which intends to support inclusive use of trails by people of all ages and abilities
