PEACHLAND – The District of Peachland and VantageOne Credit Union have announced the return of financial services to the community. VantageOne is finalizing a lease contract in the Peachland Centre mall and plans to open the branch in the winter of 2016.
Since the departure of its only financial institution in 2014, the District of Peachland has been searching for a financial institution to serve their growing community.
“A community our size needs the services of a financial institution, especially with the growth projected over the next decade,” says District of Peachland Mayor, Cindy Fortin. “Having a financial institution in the community benefits businesses and residents and avoids the need to travel to neighbouring communities.”
Peachland reached out to VantageOne Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution based in Vernon, BC and a part of the Canadian Credit Union system. VantageOne completed a review of the viability of a branch in the community over a year and half and concluded it would be a good opportunity for their organization.
