The sample assay results from 26 drill holes in Canagold Resources Ltd.‘s resource expansion drill program have been disclosed. The North Zone, located in northwest British Columbia, was the intended target of these drill holes at the New Polaris Gold project. The project’s coordinates are 60 kilometres northeast of Juneau, Alaska, and 100 kilometres south of Atlin.

The last tranche of the previously announced non-brokered private placements has been closed by Great Quest Gold LTD. Under the Final Tranche, the company issued 37,011,000 units for gross proceeds of $1,850,550.

On October 4, 2024, the City of Abbotsford – The Hub Of The Fraser Valley and the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce will host the first Manufacturing Industry Tour to showcase Abbotsford’s diversified and creative manufacturing industry and celebrate Canada’s Manufacturing Day. The manufacturers that will be featured are: Barr Plastics Inc., BE Power Equipment, RAD Torque Systems, and Structure Craft.

The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre (FVCDC) is hosting its annual Swing with Bling Golf Tournament on Sept. 19. The event is sponsored by Abbotsford Nissan and will be held at Fraserglen Golf Course.

 

CHILLIWACK 

Alyson Seale recently retired from the University of the Fraser Valley after dedicating 29 years of service. Her retirement was effective as of August 31.

In order to meet the increasing demand for clean power in homes, companies, and transportation, BC Hydro plans to invest almost $1 billion in capital projects in the cities of Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Mission, Hope, and Harrison Hot Springs over the next ten years. These projects will modernize and expand the energy grid.

On August 12, after multiple listing dates, one of the biggest concrete structures in downtown Chilliwack finally sold for 55% of its assessed value. Compared to its assessed value of $8.9 million and its list price of $5.8 million, the property at 45916 Wellington Avenue has been sold for $4.8 million.

 

PITT MEADOWS 

The Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2024 Prov Election All Candidates Debate on September 25th at Pitt Meadows Plumbing’s facility.

The Pitt Meadows Farmers Market is back tomorrow at Spirit Square and will run every Tuesday until September 24.

The Pop-Up Pitt Meadows Art Gallery will be open from September 4 until December 19 in the City Hall lobby.

The roles of principal at Pitt Meadows Elementary and Eric Langton Elementary will be switched. The position of principal at Pitt Meadows Elementary, held by Kyla Cameron, will be transferred to Eric Langton Elementary. And Pitt Meadows Elementary’s new principle will be Brandy McIntyre, who was previously at Eric Langton Elementary.

 

MAPLE RIDGE

Christina Shearme has been appointed as the new coordinator of the Seniors Network Society of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, succeeding Heather Treleaven, who is now the executive director of the BC Association of Community Response Networks.

The bylaw designating the properties within a 400-meter radius of Mission City Station as a Transit Oriented Area has been advanced through first, second, and third readings by Mission Council.
