Delta Council will discuss a request to create an Apartment Residential 6 (RA6) zone for residential apartment buildings in areas designated as Neighbourhood Centers and Corridors (NC) in the new OCP, with a maximum height of six stories. The recommendation was discussed during the meeting on July 22.
The Sundowner Pub building, which is close to the intersection of 64 Avenue and Scott Road in North Delta, is proposed to be turned into a five-story commercial complex. CJ Grewal and One20 Development Group Ltd. have submitted a rezoning application, which the Delta Council will review at the July 22 meeting.

The Council awarded Canadian Landscape and Civil Services Ltd. $227,621 for the Vidal Street Sidewalk Replacement and $30,000 to Ecora Engineering & Resource Group Ltd. for the engineering inspection and support.
The Council approves the award of $81,796 (excluding GST) to Epical Solutions, which provides a 5′ wide AccessMat by AccessRec, and $8,280 (excluding GST) to GDM Civil Ltd. for the installation of the Pier Accessibility Mat.
The Council has approved a temporary Use Permit to allow a non-medical cannabis retail outlet to open in a vacant commercial location at 1554 Foster Street, within 15100 North Bluff Road (Central Plaza).

The Province will expand gynecological oncology surgery services to additional regions and reinforce care teams with more staff, including new oncologists, to better cancer care for women. Anita Kaur Atwal has been appointed as the new integrity commissioner for the City of Maple Ridge.

MISSION
Jamie Hayes has been named the Executive Director of Mission Community Foundation.
Cedar Coast, a developer based in Vancouver, B.C., and Orion Construction, a constructor based in Langley, B.C., have broken ground on the Cade Barr Business Park in Mission, B.C. This business park is Cedar Coast’s inaugural development initiative in the City of Mission, encompassing more than 400,000 square feet and four buildings.
The days of the former Diamond Head Motor Inn as a shelter, which is now leased by BC Housing and under the supervision of Mission Community Services Society (MCSS), have been extended until September 30.
The Mission Community Foundation is thrilled with the news that it has granted the highest amount of scholarships in its history—$152,000—to 75 Mission students.
