and her husband Bob have acquired Brian’s General Auto Service,  an auto repair shop in Tsawwassen where Bob has been employed since its establishment in 2001.

Recipients of the BC Maritime Industries Infrastructure Modernization and Expansion Grant Program, sponsored by the Province of British Columbia, have been announced by the Association of British Columbia Marine Industries (ABCMI). (CME), Meridian Marine Industries Inc., Seaspan ULC.

The lease for the Royal Canadian Legion Tsawwassen Branch #289, which has been renting space in Century Square in the 1800-block of 56 Street, owned by Century Group, expired on August 31, 2023 and was extended for an additional three years.

Metro Vancouver is inviting up to four contractors to offer mobile food and beverage services at a designated location in Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen. The operating season for this opportunity is anticipated to be from May 18 to September 2, 2024.

Additional language learning opportunities for new Canadians have been expanded to three more locations in Delta: Seaquam Secondary, Delta Manor Education Centre (Ladner), and North Delta Secondary. These programs are offered through the Continuing Education branch of the Delta School District, with the main campus being Delta Community College in North Delta.

A proposal to construct a high-rise mixed-use development with residential units, office spaces, commercial space, and childcare space will be presented to the city council on February 12 at the Delta Shoppers Mall on Scott Road.

Faster broadband speeds, better access to digital services, educational resources, and local and global economic opportunities  will soon be accessible for people as a result of Telus’s new last-mile infrastructure installation on Westham Island.

The Delta Chamber is holding their After 5 event on Thursday, February 29th at Tsawwassen Springs. It’s an evening brimming with networking opportunities, snacks, refreshing drinks and prize draws.

Justin Schultz, marks the 30 year milestone this year with Arbor Memorial and currently oversees the operations of Valley View Funeral Home.

Chef Rob Feenie will be taking over as head chef at Le Crocodile, a famous and much-loved restaurant. Chef Michel Jacob, who mentored Feenie, is retiring on April 30.

The Pitt Meadows Civic Building, a two-story structure with a total area of 19,000 square feet, will provide the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with sufficient space for community and volunteer programs, as well as the necessary amenities to operate an autonomous police service. The project is being overseen by Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. and designed by KMBR Architects Planners. Project completion is expected in 2025.

Kristy Rogge  has been named the new executive director of Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services and Cythera Transition House Society.

Eva Pekarova, a musician and composer from Maple Ridge, received $6,053 for career development from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Council has approved and awarded Lafarge Canada Inc. the contract for the next phase of Abernethy Way widening, between 224 Street and 230 Street. The project will be financially supported through the City’s 2024 Capital Plan and is a priority in the City’s Strategic Transportation Plan.

Gold Rush Jewellers, owned by Adnan Polat, is closing its 224th Street location.

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture distributed over $3.3 million to hundreds of artists and companies for career development, live music events, business development, industry initiatives, and attracting out-of-province talent to record in British Columbia. McKiller Music, owned by local country musicians Tom and Lynda McKillip, received $30,000 for music industry initiatives.

Kate Woochuk, a community and road safety coordinator with ICBC, handed a $2,000 cheque to the president of the Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Katzie, Seniors Network. The money will go toward the road safety program Seniors On The Move.
