PARKSVILLE – Keeping things calm and collected behind the scenes is a necessity when any business is being buckled by demanding projects and changing industry standards. Thankfully, for Parksville-based window installation company Complete Windows, the women of the business are ready to weather any storm.

“We have a very unified team and with many moving parts in our company, the women keep the flow and keep the harmony between all business aspects,” said Katy Johnson, Marketing Manager at Complete Windows. “Other than installations, we have women in lead roles in all aspects of our business.”

Complete Windows has been a Canadian family-owned and operated company since 1997. The business originally started as a home inspecting service but the then company founder Wayne Bowles realized there was a need for better building, better window installations and better supplies, especially in the harsher Canadian climate.

The company now specializes in quality windows and doors for design-centric, high-end builds on Vancouver Island and basic window replacement for all kinds of homes and proper-ties. As building codes and requirements have changed and become more demanding over the years, the need to stay ahead of the game has only become more important.

“Keeping up with the industry standards is always a challenge for our business, but thanks to our operations manager, Kim Cooney, we are always ahead of the game,” said Johnson. “We really have been ahead of the curve when it comes to industry standards and there has been a significant shift in the way buildings are being designed to meet codes.”

The team is frequently bringing in new product from all over North America and Europe, continually updating offerings to ensure Vancouver Island residents are equipped with the best window technology available today. Additionally, the women of the business are always keeping up-to-date with design trends and informing business decisions based on their expertise.

As the business reaches forward and continues to grow, Johnson and the team wants to acknowledge the female contributions to the company as women become more visible in the construction industry.

“Until we live in a world where we don’t need to highlight these things, we believe it is crucial to keep these issues front-of-mind,” said Johnson. “I see more and more women going onto job sites and women in tools, it feels encouraging to see the trend growing in the industry.”

“We are proud to be part of this growing trend and will continue to bolster our team – the women in our business are what keep us afloat, and we couldn’t do it without them!”
