VICTORIA – BC Ferries is advising customers of the redeployments of two vessels in the Powell River area in order to make repairs to the Queen of Burnaby and to accommodate the Queen of Nanaimo’s refit.
The MV Island Sky, which usually sails between Earls Cove and Saltery Bay, will be redeployed to the Comox – Powell River route to replace the Queen of Burnaby on the evening of October 14 through late November. The regular schedule will remain in effect on this route.
The MV Island Sky, will be replaced by the Bowen Queen on the Earls Cove – Saltery Bay route mid-day on October 14 through late November. The regular schedule will remain in effect on this Northern Sunshine Coast route. The Queen of Burnaby will proceed to drydock on October 15 for several days to repair a propeller hub. Once the repairs are complete, the Queen of Burnaby will replace the Queen of Nanaimo on the Tsawwassen – Southern Gulf Islands route on October 19 to accommodate the Queen of Nanaimo’s refit.
The Queen of Burnaby will provide service to the Southern Gulf Islands for the duration of the Queen of Nanaimo’s refit through late November. The regular schedule will remain in effect on this route.
