Free Outdoor Movie Event Raises Funds to Support Children’s Health Foundation
VANCOUVER ISLAND – Looking for a fun free event on a warm summer evening for your family? Don’t miss the chance to watch a free movie by the light of the stars at locations across the Island this summer. Coastal Community Credit Union’s Sunset Cinema is returning to a 3-story screen near you.
“We can’t think of a better way to say thank you to Islanders for their support than by bringing people together,” said Allyson Prescesky, Senior Manager, Community and Communications for Coastal Community. “Supporting families helps build strong, welcoming communities, and that’s a great fit with our values.”
Thousands of Islanders have enjoyed Sunset Cinema over the years, especially as the proceeds of the concession sales support a local non-profit organization. Last year’s event raised approximately $10,000 for the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, which will also be the recipient of this year’s concession sales. You can grab a few snacks like popcorn, candy, pop, and cotton candy, knowing you are helping the health of Island kids.
If this is your first time catching one a Sunset Cinema flick, remember the movie may begin as soon as it’s dark, but you’ll want to arrive early to find a spot for your blankets, pillows or lawn chairs.
Check out the complete schedule below or visit the events section of Coastal Community’s Facebook page (facebook.com/CoastalCommunityCU) and be sure to RSVP to your community’s event.
