VICTORIA – The Victoria Commercial Building Awards, presented by UDI Capital Region are coming November 24, 2022 to the Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort in Victoria.
The event will help celebrate the best of the best in commercial development across South Vancouver Island across at least 14 different categories. Nominations will be opening in the coming weeks.
CBRE, Van Isle Windows, WA Architecture and several other local businesses are sponsoring the event.
“We’re beyond excited to help celebrate and promote the top commercial real estate projects and developers across the region this year,” says John MacDonald, Publisher of the Business Examiner News Group. “We’ve held these awards very successfully across the province for the past 15 years, and are excited to highlight the industry. It will be great to get people together and celebrate the great buildings they have dreamed, designed, built and paid for.”
Eligible projects must be completed between January 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022, and located in: Victoria, Saanich, Langford, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Colwood, Central Saanich, Sooke, Sidney, North Saanich, View Royal, Metchosin, and Highlands.
There is no charge to nominate a project, and Nomination Forms will be live in the coming weeks, and self-nominations are encouraged. The nomination deadline is September 30, 2022. A group of independent judges from real estate related companies and organizations will adjudicate the entries prior to the event.
There will be at least 14 award categories, including:
- Affordable Housing
- Community Institutional
- Hospitality
- Industrial
- Multi-Family
- Office
- Renovation
- Retail
- Tourism
- Safety Award
- Construction Business of the Year
There will also be a Judges’ Choice Award for the Best Overall entry.
Tickets to the awards are $150 plus GST, and organizers expect this to sell out quickly. Tickets will go on sale in mid-September.
