VICTORIA – Think Communications is one of Western Canada’s largest managed services technology companies.
Think is doubling their physical footprint with their new Victoria head office and investing in other amenities to attract and retain staff. Many companies are considering reducing their physical office presence and encouraging staff to work from home due to the pandemic, but Glen Buhler, who is Thinks managing partner, explains that over the last two years organizations have been struggling with a lack of cohesiveness with their teams and working from home and interacting with your colleagues and clients is just not the same on a two-dimensional video call.
“Think selected the historic former A&B Sound location in downtown Victoria because of the vibrancy of the area and the heritage architecture of the building,” says Glen Buhler. “Think has created a home for our team in a destination that our clients would also like to visit. This allows us to collaborate and innovate together, and as remote work has changed the
geographic hiring boundaries, we wanted to ensure that our office environment is an integral part of our competitive employment package. It will also allow us to showcase our own Digital Transformation. Our new headquarters has not only achieved but exceeded our expectations.”
With nearly 30 team members servicing hundreds of clients with their technology needs, the team at Think are often required to meet onsite for planning, installations, and maintenance of IT equipment.
Tony Woods, Thinks VCIO, a lifelong Victoria resident, and one of the Partners at Think, believes that along with the proximity to several of their clients and the many food and entertainment options for their staff, being downtown will allow team members to reduce their carbon footprint by cycling or riding public transit. Tony is an avid cyclist and for nearly 10 years has been a member of Thinks team for the Cycle of Life Tour which supports hospice care on Vancouver Island.
