Longstanding Kelowna Firm Bolters Results Oriented Team
KELOWNA— Three new partners have joined the fold at one of Kelowna’s leading law firms, Benson Law LLP. The highly regarded full service law firm is investing in the longevity and future of the firm with the addition of its new leaders.
“Growth is our focus,” says founding partner Garry Benson, “We are planning for the future, bringing in people who are highly skilled and desirable. These are community leaders, each with their own unique skillset, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them added to our partnership group.”
Navjit Khun Khun, Robert Starke and Tyler Fulkerth are the new partners joining Benson Law. The organization was founded in 2001, and currently employs 32.
Khun Khun began as an articling student for Benson Law in July, 2018. She was called to the BC Bar Association in July 2019, and promoted to Partner in January of this year.
“Since the beginning of my legal career, the firm has been a great fit for me,” she says. “We pride ourselves in having a personable and professional approach.
“Being born and raised in the Okanagan I am closely connected with the community and I aspire to continue to strengthen existing relationships and form new ones with the community at large.”
Her practice areas are in property law, commercial and corporate law, and wills and estates.
Robert Starke is an experienced corporate, commercial and property lawyer who has recently moved to Kelowna, adding his valuable knowledge to Benson Law’s commercial client base in areas like contract review, negotiations, restructuring and deal closing.
“The opportunity to join the firm’s partnership has come at an ideal time,” he says. “I feel that Benson Law ticks all the right boxes for my career – it’s one of Kelowna’s most longstanding law firms, attracts quality clients and values work-life balance.”
His background in team sports gives him a unique vantage point in servicing his clients.
“My hockey skates have been my vehicle in life, and have helped me pursue great opportunities and meet terrific people, locally and internationally,” he adds.
“All sports teach life skills that are directly transferable to the legal profession and business world. In a sports setting, I believe in instilling a high level of accountability, work ethic, healthy competition and strong team culture. And it’s those same values I apply to running a legal practice.”
Employment law, civil litigation and family law lawyer Tyler Fulkerth has also joined the firm’s partnership group.
“It’s a great honor to become a partner alongside my fellow colleagues,” he says. “Most of all, I take great pride to be working alongside our amazing and dedicated support staff.
“My objective is to reduce the stress of the legal process for my clients as much as possible and try to educate them through the litigation process.”
As to what makes the firm such a special place to work, he adds, “We treat all members of our staff as equals.
“There are law firms that segregate support staff and the lawyers, we do not adhere to that principle here at this firm. The lawyers and support staff are close and it is very common that we spend time with one another’s families outside of our day to day practice.”
All three of Benson Law’s new partners are looking forward to serving their community with a level of professionalism and cordial friendliness that is often too rare.
Khun Khun, Starke, and Fulkerth have achieved a breadth of academic success from a variety of educational facilities, and with Kelowna growing in size each year, lawyers of this caliber are becoming increasingly valuable.
