NANAIMO – Helping clients understand the intricacies of finance and their own investment portfolio is what drives Integral Wealth Securities Ltd. Wealth Management Advisor Aislinn Bissenden.

Especially women.

“In my experience, women are often not as comfortable with investing and tend to have different priorities when it comes to their investments,” she observes. “I’ve worked with a lot of women who are scared and unsure if they’re going to be okay or if they have enough money, especially if they are recently divorced or widowed.  I love being able to help them understand what they’re invested in and answer questions and let them know they’re going to be okay.

“Regardless of where they are in life or what challenges they’re facing, it’s important to me that my clients feel comfortable with their investments. Creating a plan to help them reach their financial goals is something that speaks to me and motivates me to do what I do.”

The Nanaimo office at 450 Wentworth Street has been in operation since 1977 and has grown into a trusted wealth management firm currently managing over $320 million of assets for their clients.  Lead by Andre Sullivan and Daniel Martinez, the team joined IWSL in 2006.   Integral Wealth Securities Limited is a national organization with over $1 Billion in assets under management.  It is a full-service securities dealer engaged in wealth management, market making and investment banking. A private, independent investment dealer founded in 2003.

Bissenden was with Coastal Community Credit Union for 15 years, serving in numerous positions including overseeing a team of financial advisors across Vancouver Island before joining Integral Wealth last September.

The experience she gained there has prepared her well for this position.

“I am working with investments that I didn’t have the opportunity to work with before, investments that allow our clients to invest their funds locally here on Vancouver Island” she notes. “Our team is fantastic, and we work together to serve all of our clients. We meet regularly to talk about our product shelf, and to collaborate on financial plans we’re working on. It’s a really collaborative environment, which I love.”

Born and raised in Nanaimo, she attended Camosun College in Victoria and played on their women’s volleyball team.  Aislinn and her husband Ryan have two children.

“We spend all of our time at children’s sporting events, or exploring, camping and hiking,” she says, adding that she is an avid coach of minor sports: soccer, softball, baseball and volleyball.

“One of the things I love about this job is that it gives me the privilege to help my clients navigate those pivotal moments that life hands to you – marriage, divorce, loss of parents – those big key moments that happen to everyone,” she explains. “I strive to give them peace of mind that I’m here to assist them in their financial dealings, so they can look after everything else.

“We come up with plans together to reach their financial goals so that if things go sideways, they know that they’re well looked after.”
