COMOX VALLEY – Co-chair of the Economic Recovery Task Force (ERTF) Steering Committee, Mayor Bob Wells, recently provided a presentation to the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board of Directors on the progress of the ERTF.
“Feedback received to date from the volunteer Industry Advisors that are participating as part of the Technical Advisory Sub-Committee (TAC) to the ERTF has been invaluable and have included recommendations both immediate and long term that local governments may be able to address directly as well as those that will be able advocate to other levels” said Mayor Wells.
Members of the TAC have been submitting Business Case Action Plans containing recommendations for consideration of the ERTF. The ERTF efforts are now focused on the review of those submissions, including evaluation of recommended actions that have the greatest consensus, will have the most meaningful impact, and are viewed to be realistically achievable from a local government perspective. The recommendations have also been provided to the Chief Administrative Officers (CAO) of local government for review and consideration.
The Economic Recovery Task Force (ERTF) is a collaborative initiative representing the CVRD, City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, K’ómoks First Nation and CFB 19 Wing Comox, which is overseeing the Technical Advisory Sub-Committee (TAC). The regions CAO’s are also participating, which allows for an increased focus and closer engagement from the communities in the process.
The TAC consists of Industry Advisors who are representatives from business and sector associations and organizations.
