NANAIMO – A couple of hundred curious visitors had a chance to see the updated facilities and to meet the people who daily operate the Nanaimo Airport during an open house held November 4.
Running from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday afternoon, the visitors included local community and business leaders, members of the media and curious members of the general public. Tours of the facility and information from staff members were features of the event. The Nanaimo Airport, located just south of the city is sited on a 550 acre and is responsible for nearly 800 direct and indirect jobs. The airport is anticipating that by year’s end more than 300,000 travelers will have passed through its gates.
