Nanaimo Economic Development Seeking Input on Committee Creation

NANAIMO – With the City’s economic development function moved in-house and a new structure being formed, Mayor Bill McKay is seeking feedback on the proposed composition of the supporting Economic Development Strategic Planning Committee that will come together to lead the process of creating a new economic development strategy for Nanaimo.

Currently the City is seeking applicants from various sectors to create a well-rounded group of economic development partners. Sector representatives are sought for:

  • Forestry, Agriculture, Transportation & Warehousing,
  • Manufacturing, Commercial Development, Renewable Energy,
  • Retail, Health Care, Education,
  • Tourism, Technology, Construction,
  • Labour Market, Professional, Scientific and Technical.
