SALMON ARM – Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the May 16, 2017 Launch-a-Preneur event hosted at the Salmar Classic Theatre. Launch-a-Preneur is an annual event organized by Okanagan College Salmon Arm Campus – Enactus, Salmon Arm Economic Development Society and Community Futures Shuswap and they are pleased to announce the following winners:

Adam and Jenna Meikle, owners of Meikle Studio are very pleased to announce their new studio location at 148 Lakeshore Drive NE in downtown Salmon Arm. Canoe Creek Golf Course has new owners as of December 2016. Sean & Michael Foss are excited to have acquired the championship 18 hole golf course and have been busy working with staff to get everything ready for their mid-May opening. July 14 – 16 is going to be a very special time in Salmon Arm as we celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival hosted by Shuswap Association for Rowing and Paddling. Not only is it magical to see teams of dragon boats racing on Shuswap Lake but this year they will feature original wooden-built dragon boats from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Tourism is ramping up at the Salmon Arm Visitor Centre and so are the hours of operation. Starting May long weekend the Visitor Centre will be open 7 days a week; Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday – Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Visitor Centre is also staffing up to support their new Mobile Visitor Services program that will begin in mid-June. The mobile program consists of two flashy, custom-painted beach cruiser bikes that will be ridden by staff to help share info on all the amazing activities in the Shuswap.
