Province Seeks Feedback on Gaming Grants

March 1, 2018

BC – An online survey launched through BC Stats will allow not-for-profit organizations to share feedback about the provincial Community Gaming Grants program.

Organizations that applied for community gaming grant funding in any of the past three years will receive an invitation to the survey to share their experiences with the program. In addition, a sample of 6,000 registered not-for-profit organizations from around British Columbia will be invited to complete the survey.

The data gathered will provide valuable information about the customer service experience of applicants, and give government important insight into any potential barriers to program access.

The results will be considered carefully by the Province as part of ongoing efforts to improve the grant application and assessment processes, and to assess the effectiveness of program eligibility criteria.

The research aims to ensure the Community Gaming Grants program continues to meet the needs of communities.

More than 5,000 not-for-profit organizations, representing communities throughout British Columbia, benefit from $140 million in annual community gaming grants. These grants help them directly deliver approved programs in their communities, including those which support local arts and culture, sports, the environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
